Cozy, safe, and picturesque. Will definitely return!

This is a lovely property in a quiet, residential neighborhood--the kind of place where people wave to each other as they walk/drive by. Sitting in the back garden in the morning sun, listening to the birds and a soft breeze in the trees, was an idyllic way to start each day. If you are looking to be pampered and to be in the thick of the tourist action, I might suggest one of the B&Bs; or something in Sedona proper. However, if you're looking to relax in a comfortable, homey setting with a little more freedom and independence when it comes to activities, meals, etc, then Casita Red Rock is for you. It is a place for those who consider themselves travelers more than tourists, and who want to feel more like they're a part of the community they're visiting. I love that it's a few miles off the main road, and with a little planning, making the 20min+ drive into Sedona wasn't a problem. And it's a gorgeous drive! The kitchen is nicely equipped and easy to navigate. The washer/dryer is a great addition, especially for anyone going on long, sweaty hikes, or sweaty horseback rides like I did. I appreciated being able to prevent everything in my suitcase from smelling like horse. You don't feel overly cramped in the shower stall, despite no tub, and there is instant hot water with decent water pressure. It was cool enough in the evenings that I only used the ceiling fans, though there are window a/C units for hotter weather. Comfortable bed, comfortable couches, and tasteful interior design. Honestly, my only real suggestions are minor details: 1) Perhaps a different shower head. The one in it now is very wide-angled, so water goes everywhere when you open the door to get in. 2) A recycling container under the kitchen sink would be helpful. I feel too guilty throwing recyclables into the regular garbage. The owners, Marie and Rick, are lovely people. They pretty much left me to my own devices, but I felt welcome, and especially since I was travelling solo, it was nice to know someone would be there if I needed anything. I am already looking forward to a return visit to Casita Red Rock

Casita Red Rock

We very much enjoyed our stay! I think you can add that you have a "comfortable" king bed. On the way home my husband said "that was the most comfortable bed we slept in!". ...and being so close to the trail heads was great...we will be back to visit your beautiful area and hopefully stay longer.

Very Relaxing and Everything I Need

My wife and I went in late March, and it was actually pretty cold outside with lows in the 30s. I was a little worried that we would be cold when I first saw the wall heater. After I found the other 2 high quality space heaters and turned one on in the living room and another in the bathroom, I was warmer than I was in my own home. I would joke with my wife about it being "5 star luxury". I loved sitting in the recliner at the end of a day of hiking with a beer. For the price the experience was much more relaxing and nicer than any Marriott hotel I have ever been to. Laundry, microwave, stove, and oven worked well. All the utensils and cooking supplies I needed including a grill were available. It looked like they even left some of the cooking ingredients from previous guests like oils, pepper, and vinegars making for much less left overs and waste. Other normal supplies you would expect from a hotel were available including shampoos, soaps, detergents, extra blankets, and tons of towels. It was very easy to find the house. I never actually saw the manager, but I never needed to either. The key and any information I would need was waiting at the house. The house was perfectly sized, tidy, clean, and functional for 2 people. I might have been comfortable with a single child but any more and the sleeping and bathroom situation would have been doable but certainly crowded. It was a very nice neighborhood with a short 20 minute or less drive to downtown Sedona. The longest drive we ever made was 34 minutes the West Fork trail. Bell Rock is only minutes away and we ended one night with a climb to the top. We brought our five pound yorkie. He had no accidents but I picked the location because the floor was tiled just in case. They provided some sheets that were meant for animals to lay on.
